Suspension creak. - David-H. - 19-10-2012 01:03am

Hi all.

I've recently noticed that when driving the car after it's been standing for a while that there is a distinctive creak from the front and rear when going over speed bumps. It does this on the six speed bumps between our house and the main road in the morning, a distance of about half a mile, but not when I drive over them on the return journey. The noise does seem to come from under the car, and is more noticeable with the windows down. The car has just passed 6K miles.

I'm not sure how long the car has to actually have stood for before this manifests itself, but I have a 15 mile drive home from work.

Has anyone else experienced or have this as well?

Thanks - David.

Mine is at the dealer right now for the very same issue. I'll post back if there is an outcome worthy of doing so.

Car just turned 7000 miles and I'm getting the same on the 4 humps between my house and the main road. Interested to see if someone has has this sorted before I take it to the dealer and moan

Yep but none of them that I have found cover this specific topic to a satisfactory conclusion

ANDYLEL - Any update on yours after you got it back from the dealer?

My creaks have now gone, my front ball joint bolts have been replaced with modified bolts.

Unfortunately mine had to leave the dealer before they got to look at it but it is going back in the next couple of weeks and I will post an update when it does.

Mine has been back at the dealers. They slackened my stubs and turned them 90 degrees before replacing modified bolts (didnt hurt a bit !!). Creaking still as bad as ever and now booked in for next week to have both front struts replaced. Will have a my13 car before I know it Smile

Hi all.

Our car is going into the dealer on Monday. I spoke with the lead technician and they are going to replace the "lower arms".

I'll let you know how the car is after this.

David.
