So my daughter is of driving age and its time to look for a car. I was thinking about thew Fiat 500 abarth (the 160hp version). I like the car and she likes it alot. I was thinking BRZ also but dont want her to have rwd as of yet!

That would be a cool first car!

My daughter wants a bright red mini, but I have told her that she will have to wait a while.

She's only 11 years old!

Not sure about US insurance but that would be crazy over here & 160 BHP for a new driver usually only ever ends in disaster!!

Only thing i hate about it is the soft clutch feel.
We talking about car not the financial aspects of it or insuring it!

My daughter wants it in white with white wheels and the red mirror caps and side abarth decals.

I've got daughters of 20 and 17 both in college one away and one at home. Both want cars...dad could probably afford to buy them...but call me old fashioned but sometimes in life you have to be cruel to be kind...if you know what I mean.

You sure you don't want her in an old Volvo for the first 6 mths for piece of mind Wink The fiat could be a reward for no incidents in that time.

We got our son a Fiat "whatever" 5 years old, to drive whilst he's away at uni. We pay for insurance etc but we didn't want him having a new car until he's got some time under his belt.

Wow, way off track, just asking about the fiat 500 abarth not parenting.

I got 500 Gucci as well, a very chick car, just a bit under power (like evoke). Im sure Abarth has more horses tied up under its mini hood.
