Dust caps - Bessiebella - 10-09-2012 06:00pm I've just ordered these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320949153262;jsessionid=27CDE906CE734182CC9561802CF77888?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D320949153262%26_rdc%3D1 RE: Dust caps - smayo - 10-09-2012 09:29pm Nice, but I wonder how long until some little ###### nicks them? Personally got some of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Richbrook-Anti-Theft-Wheel-Valve-Dust/dp/B002DV0Y0K/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1347308867&sr=1-2 RE: Dust caps - speary - 11-09-2012 08:46am (10-09-2012 09:29pm)smayo Wrote: Nice, but I wonder how long until some little ###### nicks them? +1. great but not cheap RE: Dust caps - WB - 11-09-2012 08:55am I thought it was generally considered better to have plastic dust caps as the metal ones can seize/rust over time and become difficult to remove? I'm fairly sure the genuine LR upgrade dust caps are chromed plastic rather than metal. I fitted my genuine ones a week ago and they seemed milled out of alloy. They feel like metal I'd be surprised paying $35 on plastic valve caps then again it's Land Rover we're talking about... Had these as well and eventually they no longer twist freely and become just as easy for the kids to nick! RE: Dust caps - smayo - 11-09-2012 07:30pm What was eventually? Had them on my last car for 3 years with no issues at all (apart from them getting covered in brake dust). RE: Dust caps - Barneyridge - 12-09-2012 04:34am I have these so far so good, 8 months of ownership and still haven't been nicked |
