Evoque Roof Bars w/o Roof Rails - rhysadams - 02-09-2012 11:14pm

Hi All,

I don't want to add the rails to my Evoque, so have been looking at a number of options to carry my bikes.

I've decided not to get a tow bar fitted, as LR and a 3rd party fitter said he need to cut away at the plastic bumper, even for the removal tow bar.

So I have been on ebay and found the following:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thule-Aluminium-WingBars-Roof-Rack-Bars-Range-Rover-Evoque-5dr-2011-onwards-/390412899061?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Touring_Travel&hash=item5ae66c12f5

and

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thule-Aerodynamic-Wing-Bar-Kit-for-Land-Rover-Range-Rover-Evoque-Fix-Point-/110896828704?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Touring_Travel&hash=item19d1f75120

What do you think and have any other Forum members got these fitted?

Thanks in advance

I've got the first one you have a link to - takes a few mins to install and remove - fit very well and do a good job at a fraction of the price of the LR kit and without spoiling the lines of the car (IMO)

Yes, will do the same if mine will arrive Smile
And to pack my luggage into boot, I have find this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Solento-Koffer-Set-2tlg-fur-Range-Rover-Evoque-original-Roadsterbag-/200675938180?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item2eb937cf84#ht_2504wt_906
Looks practically.

WB, does your car have the pano roof? I'm have the Thule roof bars too but haven't installed it as yet and concerned it will put too much pressure on the glass roof?

Yes I have the Pano rood and the bars don't go anywhere near it - unlike the LR ones. They simply clamp around the top of the frame.

Go for the Thule Wing bars - they're better looking, more aerodynamic and I think they suit the Evoque better.
