Had mine fitted a few weeks ago... Has anyone had any problems with it vibrating on the exhaust ??

Hi Wilsonmg
I had a problem with my exhaust banging on the towbar when I went over little bumps in the road like grates ect
The towbar firm that fitted it came out & put a bigger rubber on & said this is a common problem . No problem since.

Am I right in thinking they've taken quite a bit out of the bumper from the centre then cut to the left? Seems quite a lot of bumper to lose!

Hi All,

New here but fairly regular on the D3 forum.

Ordered an Evoque at the weekend and need a towbar, I've managed to get the RR dealer to do a detachable for £500 fitted. Just wondering if anyone here has the OEM version on their vehicle, got any pics you can share. I think it's a good price (should have been £800 odd) and comes with the benefits of, if there is a problem hopefully it's the dealers problem. That said, I rather like the idea of the Witter detachable with flange so I can carry bikes and tow a caravan?? Any advice you can offer me.

Thanks in advance, Jon.

I haven't measured how much bumper had been cut out, but you can't tell unless you get down on your hands & knees & look under the bumper.
People keep asking me why I haven't had a tow bar fitted yet lol as it is so neatly hidden lol.

Does anybody know what options are available in Australia besides a Haymen Reese ? Don't love the look of these.

Just had a quote for a westfalia dectachable with single electrics £400 i understand this hides fully behind bumper once removed and electrics swing out of the way.hopefully having it fitted on the 16th March.

I've fitted it without cutting the bumper (although i suspect it is pushing the lower part of the bumper forward by between 5 and 10 mm it's not so obvious.

Purchased both the Tow Bar and dedicated electrics from http://www.towbarsdirect.co.uk/ (They also have an Ebay store but I picked mine up from their shop in Taporley as it's not too far from me.

I took quite a few pics and put them on the following link along with some notes if anyone is considering doing it themselves (excuse the typos as I put it together in a bit of a rush)

This is what it looks like fitted (excuse any grubby finger marks they where taken before i had cleaned it)
