Yes all good. Booked for it to be done next sat so will post up some pics when its fitted. They supply the bike rack as well so one stop shop which is good. (Although the bike rack is £25 cheaper on Amazon).

Griff,

When you get your Thule bar fitted, please send me a couple of photos (as it is the same as the LR Branded Thule Bar), and I will update the attached guide.

BFG

Mailed Tow Trust today asking by how much there vertical detachable hangs below the bumper. They mailed me the following pics, fitting instructions attached.

I think I might go for this over the westfalia as the nose weight capacity is greater on this. (150kg vs 100kg).

Note the pics show the Electrics swivel bracket but no Electrics fitted. Instructions suggest that a little of the bumper needs to be removed to clear the electric socket when its fitted but I a hoping this can be avoided.

Well i got around to fitting the Tow Trust Swan Neck- Vertical Detachable this weekend.

I've fitted it without cutting the bumper (although i suspect it is pushing the lower part of the bumper forward by between 5 and 10 mm it's not so obvious.

Purchased both the Tow Bar and dedicated electrics from http://www.towbarsdirect.co.uk/ (They also have an Ebay store but I picked mine up from their shop in Taporley as it's not too far from me.

I took quite a few pics and put them on the following link along with some notes if anyone is considering doing it themselves (excuse the typos as I put it together in a bit of a rush)

This is what it looks like fitted (excuse any grubby finger marks they where taken before i had cleaned it)

I think i might be the first on here to try this Tow Bar so I hope this is useful

Dave,

Nice guide, glad I started a trend...

I note your electrics kit has the same labels on it as the original Jaeger kit I used. I think they have just put on their own casing as their logo is on the flap of the electrical socket.

Really nice fit though. I initially thought my witter didn't need cutting, but after a week or so, it was clear that the bumper was being pushed out so I did cut it (soon went back to normal).

Reckon I might choose this for my next Dynamic...

BFG

Same with me. £900 PLUS to fit one of LR's OEM Branded tow bars. Quoted from NTTA approved centre to fit
removable Westfalia £460. One thing puzzles me though. LR Dealership stated that if anyone other than LR fits a tow bar then if there is a fault with electrics at a later date then this repair/diagnostics would not be covered under the LR Warranty. Are you aware of this or is this just a crock? How did you get on with having yours fitted?

are people having to make larger cuts in the dynamic bumper. Does it sweep back further? Is it lower?

Hi having a detachable tow bar fitted today £360 by a mobile fitter. I was told if I had a proper LR approved plug in electric connection it wouldn't affect the warranty but does push the price up by £50 . I've gone for this option
