Getting rid of the evoque! - vcruiser - 09-08-2012 02:38pm Hey guys! As the thread title says, I will soon be gettin rid of my little range rover. I was quite excited when i first got it but now, 10 months later, I realize it does not suit me needs! As wonderful as this machine is, it is just not the right car for me! (still love it tho) here are a few things that led up to this decision - Too small - WAY too slow. I have the automatic 2L turbo - The touch screen is absolutely brutal. It lags with response - The cameras are extremely blurry - The ''mood lighting'' is barely even noticeable - There are far too many around, and many more to come in montreal. It will no longer be exclusive here! As for the actual driving of the car, it is wonderful, the materials are mostly great and I cannot complain on reliability or anything so far. I have not had to take it in for any problems yet either. For my daily driver, i will be going for the car ive wanted for a while! 2013 Mercedes G63 AMG. I am in love with that ride! I'll still be lurking these forums as i will have my car for another few months! You've all been great and very informative here! Cheers! RE: Getting rid of the evoque! - WB - 09-08-2012 02:51pm Sorry to hear you're leaving. I've always been a fan of the G-Wagen but good Lord what have they done with this latest incarnation? - looks like they got the intern to design that front end "bumper" and grill! RE: Getting rid of the evoque! - Sensorian - 09-08-2012 02:55pm Each to their own and all that but that Merc is one really ugly car. It would feel like I was driving round in an ice cream van. Still at least it will feel exclusive..... RE: Getting rid of the evoque! - NightFox - 09-08-2012 03:29pm Have to say the reviews I've read seem to suggest that G-Wagen = good, AMG = good, but G-Wagen+AMG = a match made in hell, it's certainly no Bowler RE: Getting rid of the evoque! - chiggy - 09-08-2012 03:42pm Just an observation... evveryone is going to hate a 2L turbo when you compared it to a 5.5L V8 with 544BHP in comparison to 240BHP. That depends on how well the 544BHP gets on with the tarmac, and from what I understand of the G63 that would be 'not very well' RE: Getting rid of the evoque! - Straydox - 09-08-2012 06:28pm Is this a 'should have gone to Specsavers' moment, Merc make some handsome vehicles but that one looks like it was derived from a builder's skip? RE: Getting rid of the evoque! - mark_n - 09-08-2012 06:51pm Ludicrous choice of car. Agricultural doesn't begin to describe it. I think you should wait until the new Range Rover comes out. RE: Getting rid of the evoque! - BeemerBoy - 09-08-2012 07:50pm well... not many positive responses there.. I think it's pretty timeless vcruiser they look better on the road than in the photos. one of those cars you buy slap a private plate on and keep forever because it never really gets old. That said.. bloody pricey! RE: Getting rid of the evoque! - vcruiser - 09-08-2012 09:03pm haha! Pretty much the responses i was expecting! You either love it or hate it! As for waiting for the new Range Rover or Range Rover sport, my brother will most likely get one when it comes out, so we can just swap back and forth. Im sure it will be awesome! |
