I cant decide on having a spare wheel or not, in my last 3 cars i have not touched the spare, any one had to use the glue stuff, does it knacker the wheel, any thoughts !! ?

No, you lose that space to the wheel & jack.

I didn't order the spare as my dealer adviced against it, saying that I would be the first person to have ever done so. But if I could turn back time, I would order it now.

For me it was the piece of mind

When I ordered I think it was £85 factory order which was a no brainer, i think it has gone up now but is still a worthwhile option.

The tyre repair solution is good for nails or slow punctures, pop the tyre on something sharp so it tears and you will be getting your tyre repaired and waiting patiently for your friendly recovery people.

Yes you do lose the space as it is quite a large space saver, but not such a big deal.

From memory I think the components separately after purchase are close to £400 for the jack wheel and tyre.

Take the spare wheel:

1) The goo option only caters for minor leaks - so if you tear a sidewall on a curb it will be of no use
2) if you use the goo then no matter how minor the puncture is the tyre will be unrepairable
3) A tyrebay will charge you for cleaning the goo out when you have used it...and you will have to buy another tin of it
4) if you have a spare wheel then the chances of needing it are close to zero - however if you don't get one then you will need it for sure ....Murphy's law rules...

Does the removable tow bar fit in underneath (when not in use !!) with a spare wheel ?

The spare wheel is a must!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get a spare!

1 slow puncture and it will have paid for itself.

With goo: Cost of new tyre, additonal cost of cleaning the wheel and the cost of a new can of goo.
With spare: Cost of 1 puncture repair.

Work out the costs. Usign the goo will likely cost over £250, whereas with the spare a repair will be around £15, so at the cost of a £120 option you will be quids in.

Also if you do use the goo, it gets everywhere when applying it.

It doesn't affect the tow bar in any way as the spare goes under the floor in the boot, and this cavitiy is used by either the spare or the goo.

Initially didn't order the spare but then had 2 punctures within a month in my C70 where the Volvo goo was useless.

Needless to say added the wheel to my Evoque build pronto.

Cheers
