Fuel consumption & Recycled air setting - Infiltrator - 01-08-2012 03:17am Hi guys I just have a couple of questions that you out there may be able to assist! Fuel consumption I have an SD4. My first diesel vehicle I've driven. Are diesels meant to be a lot more fuel efficient? And if so how many Kms should i except to get out of a tank? I still seem to be filling up regularly!? Recycled Air Setting Is there a way to default my air setting to "recycled" . It is always set to outside air, where you get exhaust fumes and the like. Can this be set/altered? Thanks RE: Fuel consumption & Recycled air setting - Barneyridge - 01-08-2012 04:08am Recycled Air - I hold the button till it flashes and then it stays on for the entire journey. If you only press it and not hold it down till it flashes, it last for a couple of minutes and then reverts to fresh air. To set it as a default - I have not worked that out. I am in a routine now to hold the button down after I start the car and put my seat belt on. Fuel Consumption - I have the TD4 but my fuel consumption averages about 9l/100km in Sydney traffic. I usually put in 52 l which works out to 570 to 580 km. RE: Fuel consumption & Recycled air setting - DefLeppard - 01-08-2012 06:07am Dont think there is a way to set it to default interior air. I do the same as Barney - just hold it down until it flashes at the start of each journey. I have the SD4 and am a bit of a lead foot. I do however do some pretty long runs. Averaging 7.9l/100km I tend to fill up at 1/4 full, and am finding my average kms between fills is 600 ish. RE: Fuel consumption & Recycled air setting - Infiltrator - 01-08-2012 11:09am My fuel use is similiar. I also hold the button down for a few seconds to set the recycled air. Would be good if it could be defaulted! RE: Fuel consumption & Recycled air setting - barks - 02-08-2012 02:46am SD4, my first diesel too. Heaps better than my old Mazda CX-9! I get around 500-600 km per tank around town 700km highway. Which is awesome when it's only $60 - $65 to fill rather than $100+!! Just a pity the diesel pumps are usually pretty grubby affairs. RE: Fuel consumption & Recycled air setting - QUEEVO - 09-11-2012 07:48am Im getting about 9-9.5... only done 4k since July so I figure Im still warming up! RE: Fuel consumption & Recycled air setting - Ringo - 12-11-2012 07:44am Found this in the owner's manual on RECIRCULATION • Press briefly to activate timed recirculation. The button indicator illuminates when recirculation is on. • Press and hold the button to activate latched (continuous) recirculation. The button indicator will flash and then illuminate constantly. • To cancel recirculation, press the button briefly. Note: Prolonged use at low temperatures may cause the windows to mist. With pollution and humidity sensing; • Press the AUTO button briefly to activate timed recirculation. The AUTO LED will illuminate. The system automatically selects fresh and recirculated air dependent on pollution and cabin humidity. • Press and hold the AUTO button to activate latched (continuous) recirculation. The AUTO LED will flash and then illuminate constantly. • Press the MAN button briefly. The MAN LED will illuminate. Recirculation mode is selected permanently.• To cancel recirculation, press the button briefly.
