Spare wheel - Washy - 30-06-2012 08:44am

Hi all
Can anybody tell me where to get the spare wheel from as i was to late to add to my order.
The dealer now wants £300 for getting a spare robbing b******s.
If you are about to order and was not planning to get the spare please let me know and we can exchange the kits and pay the difference.

£300 is a good deal. You can found the kit on eBay some times for around that price.

Will it fit in the spare wheel compartment?

No.

Its 300 because you have to replace the inserts under the boot carpet, supply a jack and wheel brace as well as the spare itself, a bit steep, Jack is only 40 from Duckworths even if spare + tyre 150 means 110 for the shaped boot inserts.

You didn't expect to get it for the option price, did you? Don't forget you have already paid for and received the existing insert and tyre repair kit including, presumably, a small compressor so in comparing the £300 upgrade cost with the £120 option cost, these items have to be included too.

The dealer might also want to charge for fitting and parts as spares are always more than when factory fitted.

I think £300 is reasonable value but if you go down that route, make sure you get to keep the parts you have paid for. Who knows, there maybe someone upset they ordered the spare by mistake but I doubt it.

Safe to say, if you have the 20's they definitely don't fit,

Just as we'll I had nothing in the boot as had to fold the floor in half so the boot would close

Before anyone asks, yes I got a puncture ( fortunately a screw right in the middle of the tread ) so had to fit the spare, just a word of warning, don't stop too close to the kerb as the jack needs plenty of space for the handle
