I have an HUGE question about my meridian system - Maxi - 11-06-2012 03:20am
Hi there
I recently get my Evoque 5D Dynamic Plus
In gray body and Black top ( Just like the limited version except the golden part)
But with all the money I paid ( Trust me, We paid double the price compare to USD )
Now I seriously doubt that I get the Meridian 380w instead of 825w system
There is NO MyVideo function, no H.D.D for virtual CD storage and no DVD player either
I know there might be so different of standard equipment between different countrys
But shouldn't be some bundle or package comes with the 825w system ?
So...here comes the question :
How will I know, if I get the 380w system or the 825w system
Is there any way to find out any detail ON the car (not on paper only)

Entry level system in the pure has 8 speakers, 11 in the 380w system and 17 speakers in the 800w system. So you can go count your speakers

Do you have Sat Nav? Because I believe, HDD is related to satNav, means no satNav, no HDD.

Go to audio settings, if it has Meridian Trifield surround, then it's the 825w system.

I ask exactly the same question to the salesman who actually sold the car to me
He said : The speakers in meridian system is "COAXIAL" speakers
So either 380w system and 825w system got 10 speakers you can only see, the one missing is bass

Well.....
The truth is that, we have Sat navigation here in Taiwan, but it's aftermarket installation by retailer
So....
I also have this kind of question in my mind, too
Because it bothers that : if there aren't HDD in my car, then where did they put the Sat Navigation system at ?

Well.....

Yes that picture showing "PLIIx, and DTS Neo 6" confirms you have the 825w system.

And the bass - as in the subwoofer is under the driver's seat....crank it up and the seat throbs....quite nice actually...
The 825w system gets a centre front speaker in the middle of the dash too...

Indeed that is the 825W system and you can't count the speaker grills that you physically see to know.

I counted 1 speaker in the center of the dash, 2 speakers in each door and 1 tweeter in each front door and 2 on the rear shelf totalling 13 speakers, although I did order the 825w and can confirm I have matching audio settings to the above image.
My question is, where are the other 4 speakers?

Coaxial speakers have a tweeter built into the mid range unit counting as 2 speakers as the unit has 2 seperate sound ranges, note the 380W does have a subwoofer too (not as powerful, but still sounds great) Somewhere someone posted all the specs of the 2 Meridian systems.
