Type of engine - Gorjan - 03-06-2012 10:02am

I have this for my car on topix:

Engine:  2.2L CR DI 16V 14 DSL 190PS
ENGINE POWER SOURCE 150/420

My car is a TD4, but this details look like they have messed up data, 190 PS and 420 would be 420 Nm which is on the SD4 engine. So what type of engine do I have? Confused

Cheers,
Gorjan

I believe all engines (diesel) start life of as the 190 and are de tuned to 150. I also have this on topix and checked my parents one and it is the same. No need for concern.

there are some mechanical differences too (different injectors for one).
but fundamentally the blocks are the same.
I think the "ENGINE POWER SOURCE 150/420" says that it'll be 150ps rather than the 190.
I'd be inclined to check with the dealer, as it's probably unlikely they'll swallow the difference if there is a mistake... if they do.. then well done! Very Happy

According to the brochure:

TD4 400nm @1750rpm
SD4 420nm @1750rpm

On Topix:
TD4 420nm @1750rpm

I also recall reading somewhere that the TD/SD4 models share torque levels, so who knows.
