Autocar Full Road Test - Blackseries - 12-07-2011 01:58pm

The first independent full road test (I think - apart from TG's rather over stylised one) is out tomorrow 13th July. This will be in the digital magazine so can be downloaded. Once this one is out I would imagine there will be an avalanche.

I think the last we heard from him he was off the coast of Somalia (or was it Egypt) my geography is not that good ... Anyroadup he should be back in the UK soon. I think he is at the top of the Evoque list so he'll definitely be back by September!

Regarding the fuel economy: the combined in the road test is given as 30 mpg (44mpg claimed by RR). Do you think this 30mpg is realistic, or are they driving like nutters?

Isn't that 30mpg their average of track racing and touring?

The data is presented in a "claimed" mpg and road test mpg, so im assuming they are offereing a direct comparison

I was looking to see if they mentioned how far they drove it to achieve that figure - I can't find any mention. In last week’s 68 page special - they drove the car 1000 miles (round trip) - the Colima Lime 5 door Prestige 180 Auto - if that car averaged only 30mpg over the 1000 miles I would be very concerned. A FFRR can approach that level of consumption - with a V8 and an extra tonne. Not good.
