Glitchy iPod sound - Daglass - 23-04-2012 12:16am

Has anyone else noticed this?
Had the car out today for its first proper run and noticed the ipod sound to be very poor at times.
By this I mean it seems to be a bit jumpy and glitchy.

Anyone have any solutions or suggestions?
I have tried 2 different leads.
Perhaps the quality of the meridian system is exposing the poor standard of the source material ie. mp3s

We did a long trip over the weekend (long ish), and it ran through the ipod tracks for about 2 hours with no issues, not only that but I actually made the comment of how clear the sound was!

Im finding the tracks I've ripped straight from cd sounds fantastic.
I can hear glitches in the downloaded tracks, Im assuming the quality of the meridian is exposing the flaws in downloaded songs

Might well be?? ... any I rip (or download) I try to aim for 320k.

Took it for another long run there this afternoon and the sound on the iPod is definitely ropey.

At times the music sounds very wonky, I'm thinking it might be the connection itself.

This is still puzzling me.
I'm now thinking it could well be the bitrate the tracks have been installed with on to iTunes that is causing the glitches.
When I get home tonight i'm going to check this out and upgrade all the tracks to a higher bitrate or Lossless and see if this helps

Upgraded all the tracks to lossless....result is still the same.
Problem must be with the interface.

Mine is happy playing via cable from my old iPod touch but every so often the track names freeze and become out of step with what's playing, if that makes sense. It will happily stream from my iPhone (4 with latest s/w) but try playing that over the cable and it drops off after a few minutes. The dealer checked my s/w, spoke to LR and doesn't have an answer...

Having upgraded all the tracks to lossless, tried 3 leads, 2 iPods and an iPhone I'm no further on.
Sound is really grainy, jumps and distorts.
Has to be the interface, back to the dealer this week it seems

Brought the car to the dealership today to get the iPod checked out.
3 hours later and I'm told yeah it's not working properly, it will take 2 days to fix.
Going back in next Monday to have the centre console removed.
Will it fix it?
I'm not holding my breath
