CR Tech tuning boxes - any good? - WB - 26-03-2012 03:29pm

Anyone have any experience of these? Seems like a very good price for a removable tuning box - I thought I'd read that this wasn't even possible for the Evoque?

There is a massive thread on tuning boxes on here.

I think if you understand what the tuning box does (amplifies the signal between the sensors and the ecu), and you're happy with that the gains seem good and the reviews seem positive (not this specific box but similar).

This one is probably a little more crude and probably interprets less sensor signals that perhaps the more pricey ones (and therefore potentially more problematic?)

IMHO a remap would be the better way.

Its definitely possible, I have had a CR Tech 2 Tuning Chip from Bluespark, and I've been impressed with it. I'm not sure about those ones on eBay, but mine has been good. I looked into it at the time and the boxes for £3/400+ are as far as I am concerned just a rip off.

agreed - if you can find the right person to do so...

This is one thread that may provide some additional info:
