Custom license plate suggestions? - miller4isu - 13-03-2012 07:48pm

Here in the US we can order custom license plates (may be the same for other countries?).
I'm thinking it would be fun to have a unique license plate. I am interested in hearing suggestions!

Things to keep in mind:
1) The plate can have any combination of 7 letters, numbers and spaces (no special characters).
2) For background, I should take delivery of my Santorini Black Prestige in about 8 weeks.
3) I'm in the Midwest part of the US, and have not seen even ONE RRE on the road, so when I get mine I expect it will still be a rare site.

My initial ideas:
LRX
EVOQUE
2012LRX
BABY RR
RRE

One of my favorites so far:
CONCEPT

Any other suggestions??

I just made a similar list yesterday. Some are RRE related, some not.

DOGS BLX
ROVR LOL
GO BYOND
MOON RVR
(also had EVOQUE and BABY RR)

My MINI is "THNK SML"

Think of the money the UK government could make if they implemented a similar system . Instead of state plates you would have county plates. So you could have the same number but it would be on a different county plate.

Does it have to be a unique combination of letters(/numbers)? I'd presume so... and is it just unique to your state?

(Basically - would appreciate a 1-2 line explanation of how the system works).

I like the 'CONCEPT' plate idea. Or LRX.

Yes, it has to be unique, but only unique in the state I live in. We only have one land rover dealer in the state, so anything referencing Evoque is probably available.

The additional cost of the personalized plates are $25 for the first year and $5 per year after.

Here in Pennsylvania, we can select any combination of numbers and letters, up to 7 characters total. It is just a one-time charge of $20 USD.

We have a website where you can check availability and order online. Each state is unique, and the rules are not consistent.

In addition to the custom vanity plates, we also have plates for groups and associations. Car clubs, universities, charity organizations, each can request authorization to have a unique plate design. There are literally many dozens of varieties just in the one state where I live.

And several states only require a rear number plate, so the front can remain clean. Some owners put custom Euro plates on the front, and it is allowed.

Damn how cheap to have customised plates, here in NSW Australia we are charged a $400 a year for the right to have one.

Damn government

Yikes - expensive Aussies!
In Canada, one time fee of $100.
I chose BABYRR, in a way to paid homage to a forum I'd spent a lot of time on!
A forum that eased my wait!
I even had a kind Welshwoman send me the coveted babyRR.com stickers! (You know who you are *waving*.
So of course, I think the should be babyRR plates in every city Smile

My vote would be "Evoque".
That is just an awesome plate to have on an evoque! lol

Just to echo what norman has said up there ^^^ there would be a massive market to have this available in the UK.
Instead we're left with butchering the letters with screws to make them unreadable! Shocked

I'll be leaving mine on the standard plate unti lthe new registrations come out Very Happy
