Its not for me, going to sell! - scottie99 - 12-03-2012 10:00pm

For various reasons, I have decided the Evoque is not for me and have decided to change.

Any advice on what I can expect for it and how to sell safely without getting ripped off in a trade in.

I have heard the waiting list is still long, so can I expect to get my purchase price back?

My car is a Pure SD auto, pano, tech pack, xenons, mem seats, heated steering wheel, electric tailgate, mats, in Fuji/cirrus (and cant remember what else!)- it cost just over £36k and was registered 4 Jan 2012 and has done 1650 miles.

Is anyone interested?

Sorry to hear this, why is it not for you?

I'm the same, there is no way this is a premium product with the price tag it has. Mine has been at the dealers for a total of 18 days and it is going back tomorrow all due to poor build quality. There is no way on earth this car will survive 4 years and 60K miles without shaking itself to bits.

18 days at the dealer and 440 road test miles since 14th Feb !

Have a look on Pistonheads classifieds, you could try putting it up on there. Most dealers are selling their showroom/demos at list.

Doesn't sound good, hope you get it sorted soon.

Although your experience isn't good this does not seem to be everyone's experience, I hope ours is well put together!

Sorry to hear all the problems your having. A could understand if you had one of the first Evoques build in July, but a 2012 car!
Very strange. There are manly posts on hear about build quality.
I can understand why you feel like this, it must have taken the sine of having a new car.

Interesting video - it's whet my appetite for visiting Gaydon one day. I wonder how many other manufacturers have similar facilities.

The trouble is, though, that it tests a well-built car, that is, it's a design test. The other side of the coin is the quality of routine build. I think most people agree that a properly built one is a good one, but what about the handful of 'lemons' that seem to be sneaking through.

I like the rain test (it would make a good car wash!). It reminds me of an old banger I had about 45 years ago, which leaked to the extent of flooding the car every time it rained - I had to drill holes in the floor to cope! I tried everything I could think of to find the leak(s), but no amount of direct hosing with water, sprinkling, bucketfuls, etc. would make it leak! I have never understood the difference between hosing the car and real rain - I just hope LR have!

They specialise in LR. Give them a ring. I spoke to Richard Brittle and was all smooth.

Why don't you reject the car?
