Has anyone tried plugging SSD (solid state drive) to your Evoque for music movies etc? Please do share

It will function exactly like a USB SATA or IDE hard drive would provided it is formatted with a FAT32 or standard FAT filesystem.

The only real benefit will be access speed which should perform like a class 10 or better USB stick.

Sounds good, I have one maxtor 320gb standard hard disk , doesn't seems to work when I plug it in. Keep on emitting a funny sound from the harddisk

It may well be the case that the USB port is not providing enough power to fully spin up the hard drive.

FAT for small disks, FAT32 for larger ones. I wouldn't expect anything else to work in any car. No ext, ntfs, zfs or anything else exotic.

Not enough power , sounds like it. I wonder how some others plug big hard disk into their Evoque?

Is that a 2.5" or 3.5" disk? 3.5 takes too much power for USB.

2.5
