H&R springs ride quality. - exigejoe - 21-02-2012 01:22am Anybody riding on these yet if so hows the ride quality?? RE: H&R springs ride quality. - Ralf - 22-02-2012 03:57pm Hi, today i wrote an e-mail to H&R to ask their philosophy. Means lower automatically harder and less comfort ? H&R is a well known brand, but I wonder how they can offer only one set of springs for SD4 and Si4, because the Gasolin engine has less weight than the Diesel. I will post their answer. My car has standard suspension, 20 ", Michelin Latitude Sport 245/40, Rear Spring Road Class-G, Front Spring Road Class-B. A very good handling on curves, but the suspension is bad, the car is bumping even on new, flat freeways. Shake, rattle and roll. The Adaptive Dynamics Version is even worse. My former cars where Sport Cars and more forgiving. Ralf RE: H&R springs ride quality. - exigejoe - 22-02-2012 04:50pm IMO the suspension is good however im use to driving on my Exige and thats hard as nails. But im wondering if the 20s may contribute to the bad ride quality...bigger wheel/less profile to cushion the shock. The question i ask this because the Evoque is my wife's/family car. i want to get this 20s but fill in the wheel/fender gap but want to maintain the comfort. Do you happend to know the spring rates? I have 20s on mine and the ride quality is very good, considering the poor state of the roads both in Gibraltar and southern spain (they can't afford to look after them anymore). I have come out of a fiat bravo which was on 15s and meant to be reasonable, and it was constantly crashing, and un settled. The RRE is however very comparable to a mk3 Mondeo on 16s which my father in law owns, and is/was considered to be a well sorted car regarding the way it rode. So i have to say i am happy. (its a damn site better than some bmw's and audis i have been in) I would consider the H&R, however i would not like to be the test dummy, though most people who i know who have used them in the past are very positive, in that they did not seem to alter ride quality far from standard, while improving composure when handling the twisty stuff. RE: H&R springs ride quality. - pureevoque - 22-02-2012 05:23pm Eibachs are available now too..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Eibach-Range-Rover-Evoque-PRO-KIT-Lowering-springs-20mm-F-and-25mm-R-/160743716289?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item256d1275c1 RE: H&R springs ride quality. - exigejoe - 22-02-2012 05:28pm I have ridden eibach in the past and favor them then H&R. Love the sportline but maybe go with prokit for the misses. RE: H&R springs ride quality. - o|||||o - 23-02-2012 01:52am Does anyone know of U.S. retailers that have the Evoque springs and spacers? I'm not quite happy with the soft suspension in my Prestige. The amount of body roll on twisty mountain roads seems a bit too high without the dynamic suspension. I'm hoping stiffer springs with a lower center of gravity will help a little. I might be a bit biased though since all of my cars have modified suspensions so I'm used to stiffer setups. The Elbachs (E10-47-006-02-22) have been available for a while, they drop the car 30mm so no idea where they got the 20/15mm from. Only £212 from Larkspeed. Could be interesting to see which kind of springs are built in in the different markets. Ralf RE: H&R springs ride quality. - exigejoe - 24-02-2012 07:03pm Just wondering if lowering your car will interfer with HDC, terrain response or any software in the RRE? Most of my cars are minimalist and never had to worry about such things. |
