Rust prevention - masmullin - 15-02-2012 08:57pm Has anyone done any rust prevention treatments? Dealer tried to sell me some electronic snake oil dk9000 and said that rust spraying would void my warranty. Picking up my car on saturday so I haven't seen the warranty fine print. Does anyone have rust prevention suggestions? RE: Rust prevention - The Valeter - 15-02-2012 10:58pm Could have understood the need for rust protection in 1982 but not 2012. Con I sugest. RE: Rust prevention - PhilSkill - 15-02-2012 11:16pm might as well be 1982 if you own a Mazda as it'll rust like an old Datsun, and Mazda will claim it's not covered under the 12yr warranty cause it's surface rust!... what rust isn't! Shame reliable car, just soon it'll be nothing more than a bag of red oxidized powder. Back to the Evoque, I do notice some exposed metal edges in the wheel arches could look magnets for rust spots, thought they'd all be protected by the plastic trim but there are some exposed edges. RE: Rust prevention - Delta - 22-02-2012 08:17pm Actually I already have rust in my underbody by the exhaust and the rear axles. I sent pics to my dealer and have an appointment tomorrow. I got the RRE on Jan 28th and only had 2-3 significant snow falls. But I wash it every other saturday so this shouldn't be happening. That's at the rear. The Front is ok. |
