My sound adjustments - vision*R - 24-01-2012 12:00pm

I have the standard 325W Meridian system, and while I'm generally impressed with its quality, I had the feeling it was not finetuned and set up too "commercially". Especially the bass is too strong with default settings. I'm not sure whether the 800W system has the same profile, but I do remember a few people complaining about poor sound adjustments before.

Check the attached picture for my personal sound settings. IMO it's a huge improvement. Bear in mind that I'm a musicologist (I guess I have trained ears) and I listen to all kinds of music: pop, rock but also classical or world music. So it's kind of an allround, "neutral" profile. It's not intended to impress people in the street with my sound system.

I hope it helps you to find your own optimal settings. Fingers crossed for more narrow finetuning options in a future upgrade.

My audio settings had been tinkered with pre-delivery and sounded great however I managed to accidentally reset them to factory default which doesn't sound as good. I'll give your suggested settings a try.

Does anyone else have any set ups they are happy with?

I haven't looked at what mine is set to, but I will and see if your settings sound better, thanks.

What does a musicologist do?

Thanks, Interestingly I've ended up with very similar settings on the 325W, will just tweak to these settings and try, I'm certainly not a musicologist but have studied Music.

I was in my Mazda today and even though it has a good Bose system it doesn't sound anywhere near as good!

A musicologist studies music but in a theoretical / historical way, instead of playing an instrument Smile
I wasn't saying that to brag or anything, it was more an explanation for the fact that I like neutral, "thruthful" settings, not just booming basses.

@vision*r - where do you set the balance / fade to?
