Got my hands on mine - mywillia - 23-12-2011 08:46pm I picked mine up from the dealers this afternoon. It was a fairly uneventful handover, the car was out in the rain and it was getting dark so I haven't been able to check it over properly yet. No bow's, no flowers, no freebies just a lot lighter in the wallet. Didn't even get a half tank of fuel! Sorry for the poor pics. I'll upload some better ones taken in daylight tomorrow. First impressions:- The manaul gearbox is very slick, and the throw is almost non-existant. It's going to take a while to get used to it. Selected 5th instead of third several times on the short trip home. The ipod connectivity is slow to respond when changing tracks The 825w audio is AWESOME The seat adjustment for entry to the rear is slowwwwww and doesn't seem to go far enough forwards. But I don't care, it's rare I'll have people in the back. The car is damp inside as the rear window keeps misting up. Should hopefully dry out over the next few days. It was raining whilst I was checking the car over so it's hopefully just damp from the rain and nothing else. Love the shadow chrome alloys Love the Verve Interior Love Dynamic mode Love the puddle lights In fact it's pretty much spot on allround Oh and the current MPG average is 12mpg for 12 miles driven (8 of those by the dealer) That's it for now, I'm off for a drive RE: Got my hands on mine - SebM - 23-12-2011 09:12pm Congrats !!! RE: Got my hands on mine - ytshome - 23-12-2011 09:20pm Looks the dogs danglies. In fairness I've had that many bouquets of flowers over the years I prefer not to get them on hand-over. I'd always prefer something useful like a brollie. So, whilst its a little disappointing when you don't get anything as a gesture of good-will from the dealer I have to say that its unforgiveable for them to hand over a new car that was stood out in the rain, especially when we have heard of rare paint problems and the "less than half a tank of fuel" is just plain cheap and unbecoming of a dealer representing a prestige marque. Enjoy your lovely car.....but check it thoroughly when its dry! RE: Got my hands on mine - SINGHY - 23-12-2011 09:24pm Sorry to hear about the disappointing handover and the absence of any freebies, especially when its meant to be the season of goodwill! as you know I'm with the same dealer looks like I'll need to do some arm twisting. But at least you like the car, it looks well even in the rain. RE: Got my hands on mine - mywillia - 23-12-2011 09:29pm Thanks all Hopefully it'll look better with some decent photos RE: Got my hands on mine - mywillia - 24-12-2011 09:50am I now have a couple of questions Is the powered tailgate closeable from the key fob? How the hell do you get into the tyre repair compressor box thingy!!! Off out now to take some more photos, it's still raining here so I haven't been able to inspect the paintwork. To be honest, I don't care for inspecting it, I'm just enjoying the car! Mark RE: Got my hands on mine - berlin2011 - 24-12-2011 10:17am Looks lovely, enjoy. You can not close tailgate with key fob. Re tyre compressor, sorry can't help there - have the spare wheel myself. Well that seems to defeat the whole point of an electric tailgate! Anyway, some more pics Got my hands on mine - QueJumper - 24-12-2011 11:19am Is there much difference in pressing the boot button to pressing the key fob? Not tried global closing (hold button down) which should close windows so might close boot too? RE: Got my hands on mine - PAT - 24-12-2011 04:02pm Great looking car and excellent pics |
