Car Tax - Info - cjfp - 12-12-2011 08:30pm

As I am due to receive my car somewhere towards the end of the month and didn't want to 'waste' a months road tax, I asked my dealer if he could tax it from 1 Jan plus the 'extra' December days and I would pay for the 'extra'. Received email today from my dealer saying that he could only tax car for "one year plus a week max' - having found this dubious [and having done more than this previously], I rang the DVLA - they said that you can tax a car for a year plus "either one, two or three weeks". I have informed my dealer of his error.

At your expense?? if its a diesel car, you are talking about 10 to 20 quid. dealer should just sort it.

When I got my Freelander I got one year & 8 days - The dealer paid the 8 days.

£265 for the auto in the first year. Manual comes in at £130.

Wow that's a huge difference is that down to co2 emissions

£265 first year and then £190 for the following years..... If your paying £45000 for a car, then the difference in road tax is probably not going to be a major concern

Yep and the Si 4 is £445 in the first year.

Some slight improvement to be had in subsequent years though.
