Movie hack - slee18 - 09-12-2011 07:58pm Anyone know of a hack to watch video while it is in motion? Im in the US and they dont have the dual view screen. RE: Movie hack - RacingSnake - 09-12-2011 08:04pm There is 'usually' a signal wire from the handbrake/park brake light switch to indicate if the car is not staionary... and you used to be able to just ground this wire. Having said that, I wouldn't be suprised if this is something more advanced? - might be a dealer enable software option, I recall reading in the handbook that some features are available 'if legal in your country'... so surely technically possible, even if not legal :S RE: Movie hack - slee18 - 09-12-2011 09:18pm Cool thanks i will have to dig into it RE: Movie hack - olde - 10-12-2011 05:09am (09-12-2011 09:18pm)slee18 Wrote: Cool thanks i will have to dig into itPlease let us know if you make any progress. RE: Movie hack - berlin2011 - 11-12-2011 09:33am There's a product compatible with Evoque being marketed by a brazilian company that allows video while car is moving and also provides an input for TV tuner (for those without built in tuner). My Portuguese is non existent so can't discern much more but have a look at this video http://vimeo.com/33417845 RE: Movie hack - Ezandania - 11-12-2011 12:57pm Hmm..Interesting. Will be watching this thread closely.... RE: Movie hack - olde - 13-12-2011 05:26am Portugese translation from Google: Free TV interface installed in the Range Rover Evoke. Unlock screen digital TV with integrated commands. You can also have DVD, GPS and reverse camera. unlock screen is with the Crosswire! The Free TV interface is installed on the network CAN-bus, car, and allows the image to be reproduced on the monitor with the original car in motion. It may be an image of the original DVD, or TV original, as an image of a component being installed, such as external DVD player, digital TV module and external GPS. Is anyone better at translating Portugese? Crosswire's website. RE: Movie hack - vision*R - 13-12-2011 10:05am So it gives you the possibility to view the present sources (tv, dvd) while in motion. On the other hand it also gives you the possibility to connect new sources like an external dvd or external GPS. Seems like a fairly basic (ugly) interface though and you'll have to choose "rear camera" to access the Crosswire functionality. Is it correct that you can use the rear camera while driving? If so, this is the reason why they're plugging it in there. It's not really a hack, they're just adding video capabilities to the camera system. The original dvd / tv options of the Evoque will still be lost while in motion. RE: Movie hack - BMW86 - 19-12-2011 05:26am Any more details on this? Anyone tried it yet?
