Heavy rain all day today, haven't been out in it, but seems the mirrors are dirt traps that leave dirty lines washed down the doors from them.

would like to ask other manual gearbox owners how they feel about it, i have this question as i find moving down from 3rd to second to be a bit clunky and also 1st to second and vice versa, not as smooth as the other gears, which seem quite effortless.
maybe its just my driving position, in my last car the stick was much lower, i kind of feel like now im sitting at a desk and the gearstick is the mouse.
but anyway with both 1st and 2nd i feel that more effort is needed and i just wondered if this is similar on other manuals. or is it likely to feel smoother once its run in ok, i have only just done over a 1000 km in mine so far.

Hi Phil - ive done around 4K in my manual sd4 dynamic and Gears 1-3 are very stiff - is this normal or does the gear box need to be looked at? Tully

Hi Tully, About the same mileage as me, and I wouldn't say gears are stiff, in-fact very smooth and just a sporty solid engaged feel. Probably worth getting it checked.

A grey water clean this weekend, (When the sun was out) had to AutoGlym Super Resin polish the rear as already had some build up on the tail gate, and a Coat of Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid Wax applied all over. Nice wax pretty easy to apply, first time I've ever used a hard wax!

Metal foot rest also fitted, feels much better to rest your foot on. (Sorry no pics due to the rain)

Thanks Griff

Just had a great day driving a Vogue at Eastnor Castle, excellent place and great staff. The Evoque had been damaged by a factory staff experience day yesterday, so got a spare voucher to re-book for an Evoque drive. Thumbs Up to Eastnor LR Experience brilliant afternoon and very instructive on using hill descent and mud and ruts, and sand modes. Takes a little leap of faith to trust Hill Descent and let the car control itself down a rock bank! Amazing vehicles, look forward to repeating it in an Evoque! Very Happy
