I was driving on Friday, beautiful Sydney day with the sun shining in, and I looked over to the passenger side. I notice scratches on the aluminium panel above the glove box. I had never notice these before and they are only visible with direct sun light through the roof. Must have been at pre delivery I would say. Without the sun light they can not be seen but you can feel them. Also the A pillar trim on the inside drivers side is raised at the base, where is meets the dash.

Spoke with Service today, parts are going to be ordered. The A pillar trim, whilst it may only be a clip, they are going to order a full replacement part.

I must say the service department have been fantastic so far. Had the tow bar done and now this. They are just easy to deal with, which is a change from most car dealers.

Funny that I've had an issue with my drivers side of the door too. But my door just sticks out a little bit generally around the whole door just a bit. Apparently it's going to go into the body shop to get fixed. Also hopefully get the software update/reinstall for the weird sputtering issue.

I do wish I get an RRS as a loan car... Sadly I think it's going to be the ugly cousin - freelander.

good times.

Is 200 odd cars available a worry?

Going by the monthly sales figures for Land Rover in Australia the Evoque looks to have added about 200 sales a month.

In October 2011 (pre evoque in Oz) they sold 439 Land Rovers increasing to 648 in January 2012 (post evoque being here)

This could be inflated by the January runout on other models but it is in the order of a 50% increase in Land Rover sales since the Evoque launch in Australia

So having 200 cars available on Carpoint at any one time may only be just over a months supply.  We will know more in the coming months when more months stats are available.

In the meantime I am still enjoying mineVery Happy

Well I think that LR has 200 cars available all over Australia - which in comparison to other car brands would be quite minimal. Many luxury car companies haven't put up all their available stock on carpoint - Audi, BMW, Mercedes and could you imagine if they did? Mercedes would have just 500 B-Classes online available for sale.

When I was at the dealership, the salesperson was saying that LR is targetting a much younger market to bring them into the brand and cause of the target audience and how they live in todays world with the internet etc, all cars they have are being put on carpoint so that the target audience can search for them easily and find a car that suits them.

Interesting point though - they have had close to 200 cars for the last 2 months at least. You do get the numbers going up and down but I think there will be a point where LR won't put up newer stock as they want to get rid of the stock they already have.

Those 200 odd sales a month include orders like yours and mine. Our cars and many other members RREs never appeared on Carsales therefore those 213 Evoques are still trying to find a buyer so that means there is more than 1 months supply.

I am not sure how many +$100 000 Evoques they are actually selling. I still predict there is going to be downward pressure on pricing at the top end to clear all those cars sitting on dealership floors.

RE: Carpoint - Available Cars - chiggy - 28-02-2012 02:52am

I don't think they're going to order many more high spec vehicles anymore because its just too hard to sell them especially when they had the main event sale on as well.

A highly specced up RRE is $122k - a RRS driveaway was $99k.

In this country - size does matter when you are paying so much no wonder they still aren't sold and from what I understand the main event is still going on...

There are plenty of cars between $75k and $95k now - I'd say 70% of the cars on carpoint are between that price now.

217 Evoques on Carsales, and the numbers keep increasing

RE: Carpoint - Available Cars - chiggy - 02-03-2012 02:11am

222 evoques? that's a new record.

wow... 222 evoques on 02/03/2012...

Nostradamus would be proud.

does this car seem overpriced to you for what it has on the car?
