sd4 evoque remap FR&RTuning - graham_evoque - 05-11-2011 03:54pm have been on touch with lots of tuning places for a remap on the evoque SD4, so many companies have not replied or have said they dont know what ecu is inside. Finally found a company not to far from me, bradford of all places! They called FR&RTuning and have said it has a "bosch edc17 ecu with anti-tuning protection". They then explained they would need to remove the ECU to remap it. When I spoke to them they were confident they could do it. I've booked myself to get this done next friday ![]() ![]() RE: sd4 evoque remap FR&RTuning - bell-auto-services - 05-11-2011 04:24pm I assume you didnt try and of the 3 on site tuners for a quote ![]() As you are told the ecu is a EDC17CP42 and it has bulit in Tuning protect TPROT_V0.7.00.2 which is the very latest tuning protection available from Bosch. Opening the ecu is no problem and its really nothing to worry about if you have any doubts. Opening the ecu gives back door access to the tricore processor and bypasses the tuning protection. Pete RE: sd4 evoque remap FR&RTuning - graham_evoque - 05-11-2011 04:28pm how much do you guys charge? RE: sd4 evoque remap FR&RTuning - fam1x - 05-11-2011 07:00pm Not heard of remapping guess m a novice so can anyone explain what's the real benefits of doing this ? Speed/BHP increase I assume? But does that mean you get a reduction on mpg? RE: sd4 evoque remap FR&RTuning - bell-auto-services - 06-11-2011 02:15pm graham_evoque, i can not match your local companys price of 300 quid sorry, I can only charge my original forum set price of 499+vat for the tuning due to the work needed to produce it. fam1x, Remapping is generally produced for people who want a little more power, zip and drivability than given as standard from the factory. Also in the case of the Evoque where 2 power versions are available we can remap the 150bhp car upto the 190bhp car and generally a little further still. If the extra power is used sencibily then in most cases economy will remain very simlar to as it would without the remap. A small amount of people may see a gain in mpg but if they do its generally only a small gain, this is due to the wide range of varying conditions needed to get it. Ranging from fuel quality used, driving style, road traffic connditions, how the car is loaded to ambient temprature etc etc. This is my own opinion as a tuner and i think an honest one at that though others may advertise and state differently. Pete RE: sd4 evoque remap FR&RTuning - graham_evoque - 06-11-2011 06:59pm thats a bit out of my budget. Ill go ahead with what Ive already booked. Where would the ECU be out of interest? I dont fancy my car being pulled apart. Thanks anyway RE: sd4 evoque remap FR&RTuning - bell-auto-services - 06-11-2011 08:56pm The ecu is under scuttle near the bulkhead. If you look near your battery you will see it. Or am I being daft and 150 bhp is = 190 ps ![]() RE: sd4 evoque remap FR&RTuning - bell-auto-services - 09-11-2011 09:06am The low power Evoque is just a defined 190 bhp car so putting it back up to 190 is no problem. The 190 will end up around 225 depending on each car and how it responds as all engines differ slightly. Just i have ordered the TD4 but think down the line i would like extra power (when warranty expires ![]() You mentioned remote tuning before on another thread is this possible, with the bosch ecu tuning protection? As I am in Gibraltar, no specialist near me. |
