Received this in an email from my dealer a while back:
The protection pack that we offer is as follows
Gap, Life Shine, true tag, tyre cover total £1500
With the gap please let me know your supply cost and I will see if I can help.
Life shine is a must to help keep the car in first class order with family life.
True tag will help against theft of the car (but if you are having a tracker fitted it’s not required)
Tyre cover is 2 year cover and guards against punctures accidental and acts of vandalising to your tyres
Todays groupon reminded me how much profit the dealers make on these 'extras':
Truetag £49
GAP Insurance £209
AutoGlym LifeShine £250
Tyre Cover £259
Total cost £767 (a £733 saving over the dealer prices)
Please don't get ripped off, and shop around too

Just remember those links are not the only providers and better deals may be around. Also they must not be seen as a recommendation as recommending Insurance is a regulated activity under the Financial Services and Markets Act as amended..

Completel, and thanks for pointing that out. The tyre insurance was just one picked at random from Google and the GAP is provided by a member on here, Kam100.
Purely demonstrating the mark up dealers put on such items.

didn't know there was a tyre insurance at all....never heard of it! and truetag??
