Td4 Vs Sd4 - THEMACS - 14-09-2011 10:10pm I note the Official MPG for these are exactly the same, is this accurate or will he Td4 be more efficient? We have currently ordered a Td4 but am now wondering about the Sd4. Also from what I have read the performance in the real world is virtually the same, any thoughts?? RE: Td4 Vs Sd4 - andyuk - 14-09-2011 10:15pm My dealership man who went on the Evoque training said the SD4 was a lot quieter engine & also he def noticed the more power from 0-60 over the TD4 this is why i upgraded to the SD4. RE: Td4 Vs Sd4 - RadioHam - 14-09-2011 10:37pm I think in a flat out foot to the floor sprint the 40BHP diff will be noticeable but in real world "lower rev" driving the torque is more relevant. Torque figs on both are closer (400NM & 420NM respectively) so I would imagine feel fairly similar in normal driving. Jus depends on your driving style I suppose. I am replacing a 170 Tiguan with a TD4 so am expecting a downgrade in performance.... Another consideration for going SD4 is styling: twin exhausts on SD4 look much nicer than TD4's single pipe. Efficiency/Consumption will be very similar between both = SD4 is just a remapped TD4 is it not? I can't help think that you may regret not speccing the SD4 if you've come down from the 170 Tiguan. YT RE: Td4 Vs Sd4 - RadioHam - 14-09-2011 11:03pm - I think you are probably right! I need to slow down a bit anyway.. |
