Boot / tail gate wiring issue - Harlk0 - 05-04-2018 08:35pm Hi all, We have a 63plate, Evoque sd4, when you look in the rear boot / tail gate, there are wires visible where the hinges are on both sides. Can anyone tell us what these are for? We have had the one on the passenger side hinge come away from where it should be connected. I’ve not noticed any warning lights indicating an issue or any lights not working, the power tail gate still works also. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Steve RE: Boot / tail gate wiring issue - Harlk0 - 06-04-2018 02:50pm I think its more of an earth bonding? 5/6mm RE: Boot / tail gate wiring issue - HughGallacher - 07-04-2018 12:07pm Hi I have same problem but on drivers side. They appear to be earthing wires and I noticed it had sheared off. I did a temp fix by adding some additional wire and wrapping it with rubberized tape just to make the connection. It would be helpful if I knew exactly what they were. RE: Boot / tail gate wiring issue - ray1703 - 15-04-2018 08:41pm they are both earth wires remove the plastic cover and you will see they break at the crimp RE: Boot / tail gate wiring issue - samevoque84 - 16-04-2018 08:13pm Currently have a similar issue, the earthing wire on the passenger side in the boot has snapped. Went to RR in Northampton, didn't even phone me back. Any idea where I can get on and replace myself? On another note, anyone had any luck finding a HB3 male to female connector, mine keep melting which makes me thing it's related to this earthing issue. |
