timing belt issue - dunkley - 15-06-2017 05:45pm Just out of warranty 2012 Range Rover Evoque costs $22,600 in repairs 90k - heater fan - $1600 bill 110k - rear end bearing and cracked turbo manifold causing exhaust fumes in cabin - $6000 bill 140k - Engine light came on, appointment booked with dealer immediately. Timing belt failed before reaching the appointment date! Repair estimate is $15,000!!! Loved this vehicle, There were no issues until it was out of warranty. Land Rover isn't standing behind their product or offering any help. I expected much more from a premium company. Has anything like this happened to anybody else? #landrover #rangerover #evoque #csfail #customerservicefail #customerservice #customerfeedback #silvermanhelps #torontostar RE: timing belt issue - Doody - 15-06-2017 06:43pm knock-wood, my 2012 has 70K miles on it. zero major problems post warranty. knock-wood again! sorry to hear all that ![]() doody RE: timing belt issue - Andy131 - 15-06-2017 10:49pm Sorry to hear about your failures - you have been very unlucky We have just taken delivery of a late 2014 Evoque and was hoping it was going to be as reliable as our Freelander 2 (LR2) as it shares many components Eg engine electrics and early ones had a similar transmission.. ours lasted 298,000km (185,000miles) before the wife convinced me to go to the dark side. I don't hold out much hope with LR sympathy when out of warranty - even with full LR service history ![]() |
