Timing Belt or Chain - Archieboy1 - 08-03-2017 02:46pm

Being about to become a new owner of a 2014 Evoque can someone advise if it has a timing belt or chain.

Timing Belt (Camshaft Drive)
Timing Chain (Twin cam drive)
Oil Pump chain
Accessory Belt

So... technically Both! but what you are asking about is the camshaft Drive Belt.

changed at 140k miles or 10 years if my memory serves me right.
I had to look it up when I sold mine as the buyer wanted it replaced, it had only done 16k Rolling Eyes needless to say I left it.

My timing chain snapped at 69,000 kms. New engine required and replaced by OEM warranty.
Probably a one-off incident, but what a gong show HQ in North America is, still having issues with complaining on the issues I have had.

Still, great vehicle to drive.
