Front badge replacement - CH11PY_H - 21-07-2016 09:18pm

I have currently removed the front 'Range Rover' lettering from my Bonnet.

Would someone please be so kind in telling me if the letters follow the curve of the bonnet or should they be straight? Measurements would be a bonus.

I couldn't use the old ones as a guide as they were incorrectly positioned.

My first thoughts were they should be an equal gap from the lip of the bottom all the way round... Meaning the letters follow the curve.
However, the template I have that came with the replacement letters is only straight and does not curve.

Thanks in Advance!

I did mine a year or so ago and found the originals were not spaced evenly. they follow the curve of the bonnet/boot, I made my own template up using the original letters but spacing them properly. If your template is straight then it's wrong, however there is a simple way of adapting it by cutting a number of small slices out (about 3mm) and bend it to match the curve of the bonnet, when it looks right put some tape on it to stop it moving and put the letters on. Make sure the surfaces are completely clean and grease free or they won't stick properly.

Get the ones that come with the curved template and 3m backing tape, it will save you a lot of grief.
There is also a slight curve in the good lettering so it sits perfectly.

Thanks Nick. I did already buy some 3M lettering. For some reason the templates were straight. All sorted now though a lot of measuring and masking tape got me there in the end.

Sorry Browny missed your comment then.
Yeah my original ones were all over the place. Sorted it in the end with tape measure and masking tape.
The template was useful for the rear lettering though.
