No it is not with the secret menu. You just have to switch on the Fakra-switch and than you can click onto the camera menu and it will show the iphone display. If you switch off the Fakra-switch it will show the cameras.

You have to remove the display unit if you want to use the secret menu and I think this is more difficult. Furthermore I don't know which inlet it will be.

The items are correct but it would be better to buy a HDMI cable instead of the plug and you could buy a plug from cinch instead of that cable.

I checked the system today and you need the USB for the converter. Sorry

I connected the cigarette lighter to a switch and from that to the fakra switch

Removed also the case

That's great - really useful post thank you!

So just to confirm, you do need to have the HDMI to AV converter plugged in to the USB to power it, you then wired in a switch so that you are able to siwtch it on and off..... is that correct?

Many thanks!!

No thats not correct. I switch on the converter by plugging in the USB. The switch goes to the fakra switch which changes the signal from surround cameras to the iphone. I think I have to produce a video to show it Very Happy

Right ok... I think I follow!

It sounds like it might be a bit beyond my capabilities possibly but a video would be really helpful as this might clear it up a bit!!

Many thanks,

Just the power supply from the cigarette lighter and installing the switch is a bit difficult.

----

Apoligies for not following.... but I still don't quite understand how the switch itself is connected to the Fakra cable? Isnt the Fakra just a cable which plugs into the back of the unit and then has the RCA adaptor plug which then plugs into the HDMI/AV converter?

Sorry for the questions but just want to make sure I understand correctly before I buy all the components.

Many thanks,

Sewy

No problem Smile

You disconnect the fakra cable in the middle behind the DVD Unit. Than you install the fakra switch which has to inlets (one for the original surround camera cable and one for your converter cable) and one outlet to connect again to the original fakra. If the switch has no power it will show the surround cameras. If you install it to the cigarette lighter with another switch it will show your iphone.

Ok great! Thanks for your patience.

What is I do not have the surround cameras as I don't think that is standard is it, and I haven't added them as an option.

Would I still need the switch in that case?

Also, does this way show whatever is on your iphone on the screen even when driving, so can be used for the satnav on iphone etc?

Thanks again!
