So could an MG Montego! Am I right in thinking they had a 2.0T in those? My Grandpa used to have an MG Turbo Metro in the early 90s. Used to have a 'turbo' light in the headlining showing whenever the turbo was on boost. The coolest feature I can recall in a car. Does the Montego have one?!

Just a thought. I once owned a 1972 BMW 2002 tii, told them (Chris Knott) the replacement value that I wanted it insured for and they happily kept the premium down to c.£270 which I thought was good still given I was only 25 at the time. Presume you're going with a classic car policy which typically cover vehicles over 15 years old?

Mine is a late non turbo so no boost gauge. Yes the earlier MG Metro Turbo's had a boost gauge & possibly the very early Monty Turbos but not sure, I will have to ask on the Maestro/Montego Forum that I am on lol.
Agree with you though as even the standard 2.0i is pretty quick & the Monty Turbo in it's time was the fastest production saloon in the world & the Maestro Turbo was in the supercar league (Literally) with the 0-60 time!!

That quote was not on a Classic policy as they don't do one but I will be shopping round.

All 3 vehicles in my signature are currently on a trade policy but I can't have the Evoque on that as they only insure up to £30K plus if you don't have a personal policy for more than 2 years you lose your no claims bonus & as I cancelled that in April 2010 I need to put at least one car on a private policy soon.

I'm an old dog at 56 but fortunately, my insurance is a piffling £200 or so.

44 in a couple of weeks, insurance on a multi-car with an E-class 350CDI cab as 2nd car, a few pennies over £1K.
