Looking good i just ordered the grill and rear lights myself. Ordered eu style fronts for myself as the trouble with the facelift fronts is not worth it

First post!

Actually doing this exact conversion so will get my own thread sorted out shortly.

I’ve ended up buying Nick’s headlights while he doesn’t currently have the time to get his sorted.

Have just spoken to an electrician at Hatfield Land Rover, Liverpool and told him the problems experienced…. You know this already Nick, but the issue is the software within the car.

He did mention he has seen a facelift model already that has been completed on the old software, but it’s using a transformer and obviously, JLR don’t make one of them (why would they)

So I think it’s just a matter of getting a quality auto electrician who knows his stuff. The Land Rover chap did say it’s bread and butter to a decent spark who is competent.... So it certainly isn’t impossible, just time consuming and a lot of trial and error.

Pukka Job on the facelifts Thumbs Up

I've asked myself, do we do these facelifts because they look better or is it to make your/my car look younger???
Did a facelift on my freelander 2 and once it was finished to as far as I wanted to take it and just under £2000 lighter and hours of DIY time spent on the drive..... that I never see a penny of when I sold it Crying
I was more than happy with the outcome but would look at the pre-facelift freelys drive past and think to myself
I quite liked the look of it before Rolling Eyes

So my question is ... is new always better ? To be honest I like the older style signature headlights over the newer style and the grills & fog light recesses on the Evoque.... but obviously that's just my opinion Very Happy

Here's my freely what started of looking like a MY08 .... I did have a nice shiny exhuast tip on it but I removed it before I Part Xed it

Nick,

I can buy this facelift bumper, but it is missing the lower part in between the silver part. Is this part interchangeble with the prefacelift bumper, or can I buy this separately from JLR?

thanks
Rein

Hi, no, part not interchangeable. Look similar but not the same as I checked. You'd need the gloss black one of a bkack pack and thinks was under £100.

NickJ, just wanted to say great work and I really hope you try the PINs on the new headlights and get it to work one day.
I am from the United States and SADLY
we do NOT get a dynamic coupe for 2016 or 2017 and not many options at all on the coupe.

SO I am going to buy a older style coupe dynamic and hope to one day convert it to a MY2016 revised headlights and taillights. Great work guys

I have obtained second hand pre and post facelift headlights and taken them apart and can get everything except the DRLs to work. Does anyone have a solution for the DRLs yet?

Surely if you have the pre facelift headlight you just use this wiring. What issues are you facing?

I have bought one damaged pre facelift headlight with the intention of using its wiring to adapt to facelift light.
