But regardless of software update (if its just the numbers on the screen) wouldnt you still be seeing the frequent numbers of trips to petrol station staying the same ? or does the software update physically affect petrol consumption... if so Im going to dealer ASAP !

I cancelled my Evoque order and decided to keep my S3, purely because of the Evoque's poor fuel economy. As I posted a year ago, I took the Si4 and SD4 for a test drive and they got 17mpg and 27mpg respectively. Did the exact same route in the S3 and got 34mpg (attempting to drive in same manner). In real life I can get 40mpg from S3 if I'm careful. Once - and if - JLR sort out fuel economy I'll buy an Evoque. That's the only thing stopping me! I just cannot handle going backwards. Especially nowadays when cars are getting more and more fuel efficient, and fuel more and more expensive. I know people who are buying 60mpg+ cars with half-decent performance...there's no way I'm buying one that gets 17mpg and that isn't even that fast.

17 mpg... I think your just been silly... No one on here has reported that bad mpg at all. An s3 has nothing on an evoque. And there completely different cars. You might as well compare a Prius to a hummer and then complain... Pointless argument

EpicEvo, WORD!

the conclusion is RR make false advertising regarding the mpg, or is a secret driving mode, or some of us are schumacher.

No its a rather simplistic Standard approved test, that all manufacturers tune their engines to to get the best figures, these are the only figures manufacturers are allowed to publish, trouble is the test doesn't reflect real users in real life.

I think is the same, RR maybe did the test in the "ideal" condition and we are not aware. I know the ideal mpg is with 90 km/h on highway and 55 km/h in city. if they tested the car down hill, with the wind from behind ...etc then is not relevant. so...

Seriously?

don't know, you tell me. If they can do it, we can do it.

It's done in a lab to very specific conditions...
