Emailed my salesman today for an update, lets see what happens.

Talking to my dealer today (would rather not say which as I think they were giving me this info in confidence) and they confirmed that they had also received a December order call of just 4, but 32 for January.

I think it's fairly common knowledge that the Jan order call will be bigger than usual. Lookers have posted something similar on here.

My interpretation/guess is that the factory has produced more cars for the overseas market since production started, now if they focus even for the short term on UK car production which takes into account keeping the factory open over Xmas and New Year followed up with a larger than normal Jan order call, an awful lot of car will come into owners hand in time for Mar 12 new plate.

Probably a good PR exercise.

Phoned my dealer today and was told he'd call me back.
9.15pm now and I'm still waiting....

I get the feeling that he won't be calling back tonight - especially as Top Gear is now on !

You assume as a car salesman he will actually be interested in cars, this is not always the case.

ED209, I take it that your dealer never got back to you either?

I've still not had a reply from the email I sent a week ago so am putting it down to the time of year but will be visiting the dealership after the new year to try to get to the bottom of this mess.

Nope but it was maybe 1pm when i mailed him and my dealer must be the only one in the wold that shuts at 5pm, It is also possible that it might have been his day off or that he has some christmas leave.

had been hoping that someone might have contacted me on 23rd,24th or 28th with some news though even if my particular salesman was off. Certainly if I am going on leave at work I hand over things that are important to someone else so at leastthey know about it in my abscence. I would hope othes in other lines of work would do the same?
