Hi.

To sell a tuned ECU is no problem but I still need to read your original to make a standard image from it to add onto the second that I can then tune.

Good morning Pete, sorry to be a pest

Can you clarify for me my questions

I understand that you have to open the ecu, are there any tamperproof seals that get brocken in the process, conscious that if I break down somewhere and the assistance guys come out that they could find the remap or be able to identify that the car has been tampered with.
One last question do you know if it is standard practice at the dealers to check for factory updates when the car comes in for a service? with my job I do around 25-30k per year and hence will be a local friend of the service dealer I choose.

Sounds like I am going to have to start saving some pennies and have a run up to Yorkshire in the summer, would you have a before and after plot you could share ?

Many thanks

Hi no taper stickers on the ecu, factory updates are done by some dealers, some only look if the car has a fault, some dont look at all. I cant answer better than that.

All info ant plots will be in the next issue of LRO so i cant post any pictures or plots untill 4 weeks after the magasine as part of the artical deal.

Thanks again

Even better, I will keep an eye out for the magazine article and read the report there, should boost interest in your company with LRO airing your power upgrade option.

Look forward to reading the finished article

Attached is a PDf that 150bhp car owners may be interested in Smile This was ran on my friends dyno.

Good figures there, 53bhp increase, and 46nm Torque.

Now to start planning my 4000 mile round trip Cool

Congratulations the graph shows clearly the smooth improvement in both torque and power, a nice smooth curve, and from the article I read sounds really nice to drive as well, I have had my car just under 20hrs and it feels quite punchy now, so with more juice down its neck should go like a rocket

Well done, nice to see a map that has been thought about and carefully enhanced.Very Happy

I was actually surprised by the TD4 as i only test drove the SD4 and to be honest i couldn't tell the difference, maybe because i was just cruising and then driving around town, but it has left me questioning whether I need any more power. I have another car for a plaything, and think i will just concentrate on that.

That looks good.

Not sure whether i have the guts to do it though when my car comes. I did boluefin my scirocco a couple of years ago and i think i was the first person in history to ask for my cash back. I couldnt really notice the difference until i was doing illegal speeds!

GibEvoque, what you have to remeber with test driving cars is that the RRE and most modern cars are adaptive on the gearbox and will not adapt correctly on short trips of a test drive.

The 150 and the 190 difference is a mild gain type feeling due to the torque difference being only small between the two. As you know the 150bhp car is 400Nm and the 190bhp wtich is massive in comparision is still only 420nm a difference of 20nm between the two which is why feeling of difference in not as expected or as you would imagine from a 50bhp gain.
