Some customers may experience a minor inconvenience, while for others delays can cause major disruption. To address the situation Land Rover has taken action in conjunction with its dealer network to seek to minimise the impact for each individual and your dealership will seek to understand your needs and tailor a response.

How about a free LR/RR loan car, especially for those of us swapping from a 2wd before the winter. I know for a fact 3.5 years ago when the Tiguan came out VW were providing free VW loan cars to people who had to wait more than 16 weeks after submitting their order to the dealer.

... from the dealer to the factory presumably. Based on many of the comments on this forum and the speed of delivery we were originally told for ours, I suspect some dealers got many orders in without real customers. Our dealer went to see which of the ones that were in the system for them closely matched our order and then came back with a date.

A friend who ordered his a year ago did not get round to confirming his final specification until after the launch has/had a delivery date the same as ours is/was.

ED209, was this an internal document that was sent out ?

KPNuts, I also ordered mine 15/10/10 over 1 year ago, and could only finalise my order after the road tests in York in August of which my last change date was supposed to be 31/08/11. I now by making color changes and sme minor additions have made my car later by a month Sad
It was supposed to come 10/9/11 and instead of the 10th of last month its now 31/10/11 Sad

No one has contacted me to "understand my situation".

It is a letter sent to all dealers..... Seems most have not passed it on to customers

I can say from what im told the car ordering online site will be down 19/10/11 from 12 midday and 1pm. This is for updates apparently to delivery dates and other essintial maintanance work.
This may give a more stable answer to delivery dates.

Sad

Does anyone really believe cars are being built in date-of-order sequence? How can they be when parts are missing for some but not for others?

I haven't had any contact from my dealer to "understand my needs" and doubt I will.
