RE: Running I phone through 8" screen - splash - 21-11-2013 09:45pm Hi Gibbyd, nice to see that it works for you. i have been gone for a while but I'm back know. so what kind of cable do you use between the iphone and the hdmi converter? /Splash Running I phone through 8" screen - gibbyd - 22-11-2013 12:14am [attachment=3827] Have this at the moment, kivic one is in the post. RE: Running I phone through 8" screen - chani1312 - 22-11-2013 01:23am Gibbyd please take loads of snaps of how you connect the kivic one. Pleaseeee Thanks RE: Running I phone through 8" screen - lupusa1 - 22-11-2013 01:03pm I have been following this thread for some time, having bought my Evoque in March of this year. What I would be looking to achieve would be outputting my iphone to the evoque screen, and being able to operate the phone from the evoque screen, ideally without having to plug the phone into the car. As far as I can see, the Kivic would just output my iphone display to the evoque screen in a similar fashion to an Apple TV outputting my phone to the TV screen in my living room. I would not be able to operate the phone from the evoque screen. There would however be no need to physically connect the phone to the Kivic. The Mimic device (http://store.mp3car.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MimicsModule) would enable the evoque screen to operate as a touch screen to control my iphone, but there has to be a physical cable connection from the phone to the mimic device, which is messy. If I was wanting to use the TomTom app on my phone, I would also have to put the phone somewhere it is going to get a good gps reception, which means a lot of messy cabling. It looks like at present I will just have to wait to replace my car in 3 or 4 years time, when the in car screen will presumably then support ios7+ and its in car features! Unless someone has some better suggestion? RE: Running I phone through 8" screen - chani1312 - 22-11-2013 01:20pm as far as gps is concerned, my iPhone finds gps with the phone between my laps even in the centre console cup holder of my previous audi. so i don't think there should be a problem with that. i am only purchasing the kivic one so i could stream youtube videos off my iPad mini for the kids to enjoy and movies. but i do agree with you. it would be amazing if you could use the touch screen to navigate the phone Running I phone through 8" screen - gibbyd - 25-11-2013 07:45pm Well.......! Got the Kivic today. Won't output av to screen. Have to put the sound through the aux in and it all picks up the engine and hums like a bee hive on low volume. Waste of £200. RE: Running I phone through 8" screen - chani1312 - 25-11-2013 09:32pm When I spoke to kivic. They said you can put sound without the aux. ??? Running I phone through 8" screen - gibbyd - 25-11-2013 09:41pm Bit confused and glum over this. Have put it all back in the box for now. Will look again tomorrow. |
