RE: December dealer allocations. - THEMACS - 26-12-2011 04:17pm This is all very Strange!! We ordered 5 July 2011 and were told there and then March 2012 at the earliest, that was fine. But I find it really hard to understand Why people on this site , UK, have ordered after that and got their Cars.. What the F*%! is Going On!!!!!!! ![]() My dealer told me in late November we would be on the next order call which would mean a Late Jan/Early Feb build. Haven't heard anything from him since last Friday, have emailed on Christmas Eve, if we aren't on that order call there will be HELL To Pay!!!! But some people who got their car early are because of cancel orders at their dealership. RE: December dealer allocations. - Daglass - 27-12-2011 03:23pm My mate and i ordered on the same weekend in October. He just texted me to say his delivery has been.confirmed for February, i haven't heard a word since i ordered. What is going on? Are the deliveries just random? RE: December dealer allocations. - Craig_d1 - 27-12-2011 11:59pm (27-12-2011 03:23pm)Daglass Wrote: My mate and i ordered on the same weekend in October. It depends on your dealer. Each dealer gets an allocation of cars, and that can vary from dealership to dealership. You're then also dependent on how many orders the dealership has. So if for example, 2 different dealerships have an allocation of 25 cars a month, and one has a 75 car waiting list, you can expect the car in 3 months. If the other has a 125 car waiting list, you'll be waiting 5 months. That was how it was explained to me. I could be wrong. My dynamic order is still in the holding pool at my dealer, and I've been told that in jan they get their new allocation of cars, and from that they should be able to work out my expected delivery time according to how many cars are in front of me 'waiting' in the dealership holding pool... RE: December dealer allocations. - THEMACS - 28-12-2011 12:20am Craig, when did you place your order? And when do you expect delivery? RE: December dealer allocations. - Daglass - 28-12-2011 01:05am See the thing is we ordered from the same dealer and bar the colour the cars are exactly the same in fact mine was ordered a day prior to his. Its a mess of a system RE: December dealer allocations. - LDT - 28-12-2011 01:12am (28-12-2011 01:05am)Daglass Wrote: See the thing is we ordered from the same dealer and bar the colour the cars are exactly the same Hopefully you have different sales people, and the one dealing with your mate is more up to date. With any luck you will receive the same news shortly. RE: December dealer allocations. - Craig_d1 - 28-12-2011 02:02pm (28-12-2011 12:20am)THEMACS Wrote: Craig, when did you place your order? And when do you expect delivery? Originally placed an order back in jul but then stupidly cancelled it in sep (I think)just before the launch as the sales rep said the boot was much smaller than that of a Freelander2(delivery then was for mar2012). When I saw it in the flesh was going to but an order in but there was a chance of me moving abroad so waited till that panned out. So finally put my order in middle nov, and told prob have to wait till jun/jul for it. Spoke to him end of last week, and that's when he said my order was in the dealership holding pool, and that in jan they'd know their new allocation of cars, and from that give me a better estimate of delivery times...think he said he had 150 orders ( a lot of which are company cars orders). i know back in sep he said their allocation was 68 cars from launch till the end of the year, and also know that the dealership i went to up north had an allocation of just over 100 cars for the same period(hence different delivery times depending on the size of the dealership if both dealership get the same number of orders at the same time) Probably think that they'll be a few more cancelled orders etc. (Spiderman occasionally post some cars from dealerships that he knows and Nick does the same) and hopefully will pick one up in mar, which would suit me fine. seems to me if a client cancells the car the dealership keeps the order knowing they'll still be able to sell it, if not give it to one of their customers in the pool |
