Doug,

You do like me!
I will see what my 5 year service costs me in the next couple if weeks as I am now on 16k.
I can't see it being free. There will be a cost somewhere..

Ben

Ben,
Do you remember that travel company TV ad, "would you like your receipt stapled sir" that's extra!

Just had my 1st service and I took my wallet!!
I was told it was all free. I said there must be something to pay. But no it's free they said.
There normal cost is 299 1st year then 2nd 399.

So some things are free!

But it may have cost me more as I got a pX price to change mine for a RRS HSE.
I could have one in under 4 weeks!!

It's got me thinking, but I pick up new transit custom in 2 weeks.

Ben

All this talk of services costing £3/4/500.00 has me wondering what corners will be cut by a dealer for those that have taken out the £500.00 5 year service plan.

I also wonder how often made up problems will be reported.

I know with past vehicles I have taken them in for warranty work and magically OTHER work, also under (the soon to expire warranty) has been found. Pure coincidence, I am sure. Cool

Well I think its more the engineers time that cost the most at the dealer as if you took the car to your local garage for a oil / filter change service it doesn't cost that much.

What is unfair is the doesn't seem to be a fix price for the service they all charge different amounts for the same service.

Just had my second year service today, and seemed pretty steep to me. Done 35000kms.

*They said this is a big service, and charged $1300 AUD for the job.
* On top of that, they also informed me that my original rear brake pads were 85% worn and needed changing (fronts 60% & o.k.) They charged $185 AUD for the 2 pads and a crazy $233 AUD labour to fit! (remember no disc needed changing, just pads).

On tuesday and on warranty, i'll be getting a new Key Fob to replace my original due to the rubber lifting around it's edging, and a new lumber support for my drivers seat due to it not working.

I'd be interested to hear of others who can compare the costs from their own experience.

That sounds like some kind of price gouging / extortion racket / price fixing to me.
