OK, done the contacting in my area (Sth Hampshire) and got:-
Harwoods Basingstoke £398.95 (inv vat) - Oil component £not given
Harwoods Chichester £344.59 (inc vat) - Oil component £115.20 (inc vat)
Hunters Southampton £370.60 (inc vat) - Oil component £114.06 (inc vat)
Hunters Guildford £349.81 (inc) - Oil component £109.84 (inc)
Swain & Jones Farnham (Jag garage but LR approved servicing) £354.63 - Oil component £111.84 (inc)
Still to finalise my choice but Hunters Guildford is looking good at the moment.

Why on earth are they charging so much for the oil? It's £62 for 6L of Castrol C1 from Yeovil Landrover!!
What a ripoff!
Why not just show them how much the parts and oil cost from Yeovil Landrover (£98.21 inc VAT) and ask them to match or you'll supply your own parts. That way you pay the right price for parts and oil and the local cost of the 90 minutes for labour.

You're right, it is a rip off for oil. I've really only split the oil out for interest - I nearly always supply my own oil.

Makes the £1548 for 3 year service plan that I was offered (and refused) seem a charlatan of a plan!

If you need Just quote my price cjfp, service Manager called me back from my e-mail his name is Vaj (they won't relate to my username), they asked for recommendations, so you can say it's a recommendation... which it is

Phil that is a good price, X that by 4 and it just about undercuts my 4 yr service plan. However, that is a costing for yr 1, yr 2, 3 & 4 vary.
