Does anyone know if you copy a cd to the hard disk what quality it copies?Confused:
No rush for an answer, I don't get mine till April.

I was wondering that as well, other than the car manual and is there a more detailed overview on the meridian systems specifications?

Copies at a maximum 320bps. Sounds just like the original.

^^

Not sure that's true as even at 320 the file is still in a lossy compressed format. The LR system rips at lossless 1:1 quality so is using an uncompressed file format. I'm assuming WAV but don't know for sure.

I'm not a techie, but this has been discussed before. My dealer gave me a full demo of the media set up, iphone, ipod, usb and cd/hdd.

He explained that if you copy a cd to the hdd it transfers the data in a way that is almost exactly the same as cd quality, loss less or some similar term.

It is definitely a lossless format as Meridian didn't want compression. So 16-bit WAV format.

Guys, the setup i specced was the 825W Meridian + the 8" Touchscreen (not Dualview), does that mean it ONLY plays the CDs but not copy into some sort of HDD? I also didnt spec the Nav system.

Interesting, UK Dynamics come with Nav and so the HDD to store CD's on, Sounds like your spec will only play CD and not store then, But to be honest the USB interface works so well you dont really need it, I have all my music in my evoque and a CD has never gone near it!

Hey Phil, here in Brunei we don't have that much of extensive road networks like in UK/EU/US and being an island country, hence not much need for a Nav system. Looks like i have to download/convert music to minimum 320kbps or to Apple Lossless for the 825W system....now where's my old ipod....
