RE: Oh no, bought another set of wheels! - Dottyflo - 06-06-2016 07:26am Would this be any good to cover up fine scratches ???? RE: Oh no, bought another set of wheels! - nick1340 - 06-06-2016 02:25pm No. Having just done a set, it doesn't disguise any fine scratches or even enhance the gloss. Being a sealant, it might help any further fine scratches though. RE: Oh no, bought another set of wheels! - Dottyflo - 06-06-2016 06:43pm Thanks Nick ... Looks like it's gonna be the costly way RE: Oh no, bought another set of wheels! - Nickj - 06-06-2016 07:52pm Can you not get them polished with a cutting compound and then seal them. It's just paint after all and just needs cutting back to get rid of the scratches. So, wheels fitted today. Mixed feelings as loved my previous wheels but wife hates them. New pirellis in 265/35/22 fitted and black wheel weights added. Range Rover centre caps bought but a little bit small so added a dash of silicone sealant to ensure they stayed put! First impression was good as from the side profile they looked great. Less tyre, more rim In and oem style. Not so keen from the back as tyre tread pattern not as good as the uniroyals and no width to them. Thought they would look a bit wider being 9.5" wide and 265 tyre. Overall though look good and I do like the gloosey ness of the wheel and the oem feel. Few rubbish pics. Will post some better shortly. I have been following your other conversion thread as well I've been looking at getting these style 22" for my 2012 Dynamic, also love the updated tail lights. Can I ask where and how much you bought your wheels and tail lights from? Or even the brand of your wheels and I can see if i can source them here.. I'm located in Australia Thanks! RE: Oh no, bought another set of wheels! - Nickj - 08-06-2016 12:53pm Hi, I sourced the wheels through CM Wheels in the uk. I'm afraid I dont know the name of them. I will look on the box when home. i saw these wheels on eBay, but then realised I've bought wheel from him before as sponsors the old bmw m3 forum I was on. The rear lights were from eBay also, and I was lucky to stumble across a black pack set. Paid £400 ish for them. Sorry, neither of those answers help much! I have been following your other conversion thread as well Just put Evoque 22 alloy into ebay search and they'll come up. CM wheels have them but don't say what make they are. RE: Oh no, bought another set of wheels! - andrewcui - 09-06-2016 12:10am Thanks for the replys Nickj and xz4 I have found a place in Australia who are selling these wheels in the same size as yours and they have +45 offset Nickj - a couple more questions... Are you able to advise the offset of your wheels? Are they sticking out past the wheel arch? (hard to tell from your pictures) Is there any rubbing when turning? Does it affect your speedo reading? Thanks again! RE: Oh no, bought another set of wheels! - Nickj - 10-06-2016 03:19pm Hi, yes mine are about 45 also. Sit well within the arches. If like another 20mm to be honest. May get some spacers again! Think the speedo will be 2% out as rolling radius slightly bigger. If you go on 'will they fit. Com ' you can put in your tyre specs and they will give you exact details. Def no rubbing. RE: Oh no, bought another set of wheels! - wheels - 11-06-2016 09:42am Think a slightly bigger rolling radius is good. Mine shows about 3-4% to much, so a bigger radius would just make my speedometer more correct |
