Auto boxes are so much quicker these days and on many cars give better fuel economy as well unlike in yesteryears when an auto box was slow and guzzled fuel.

Auto definately for me - better off road as well now everything is comuter controlled.

Anyone got a pic of the manual gearshift inside the car? - every one I've seen only shows pics of the rotary auto control

Spec a manual on the LR website and then go to the interior pics and you'll see one.

there seems to be quite a big mark up for the auto in spain, i think its to do with the way its taxed here, i think i would be paying another 5,290 euros if i wanted a auto box, unlike the touch over a thousand pounds in england. quite a large mark-up so i will be sticking with a manual.

if you think that is expensive, in portugal you pay more 7000€ for auto
