RE: Something for the weekend and sunny days - Daigriff - 12-01-2013 12:17pm No brainer, I agree with those who say the S2000. Well planted, fast, reasonable running costs, cheap to buy and reliable. Guy at work has one it's almost 10yrs old and has never let him down. RE: Something for the weekend and sunny days - ED209 - 18-01-2013 08:36am All you need is a mk1 mx5/eunos, cheap as chips for parts and insurance, about 30mpg and bullet proof. I joint own a £1400 mk1 eunos and it drives great. Had it on a trackday at Croft in November and it was great fun and totally reliable. Even a numpty like me could get it sideways and control the slide. I do miss my old vx220 though but it was too nice/expensive car to use on sunny days only. RE: Something for the weekend and sunny days - Craig_d1 - 18-01-2013 10:29am Latest auto express has a sction called half price heroes. In the £3-5k bracket, the porsche boxster(best for fun), though will prob need a bit of work done to it. In the £5-8k, the Honda S2000 (best for thrilling handling) £8-11k section, Mazda MX-5(best for fun) RE: Something for the weekend and sunny days - Wak - 18-01-2013 01:58pm Having had a Honda S2000 as a daily drive for 3.5 years I would say this is the perfect solution to your 'sunny day' question. Bomb proof, quick and a little scary when needed God I miss my S2K! Wak |
