So is this 100% confirmed to be true then?

Well, it's been backed up by my dealer so I'd say 90% confirmed, but good if someone could check with their dealer though

I have emailed mine... I hope to get a response in the morning... I really really hope it's not the case Sad

Still no reply from Nick@Land Rover.

Come on Nick or Liam these issues are important to your customers.

My thoughts on the ed4 is that a lot of company car purchases have probably been responsible for these sales.

I thought the TD4 and the SD4 were the same physical unit with different maps?

Are they actually very different beasts?

The internals are, eg. bigger injectors & turbo.

Unless the Fl2 becomes auto only then the TD4 will remain, as there is no manual gearbox for SD4 Fl2s.

I suspect the td4 on the FL2and LRE are actually sufficiently different for LR to be able to maintain it as an option on the FL2.

'If' this rumour is substantiated, I guess it will be more to do with repositioning their options on the LRE. Looking at their current line, I guess there is not sufficient differentiation between the TD4 manual and the SD4 manual. Rearranging things to just ED4 manual, SD4 manual (150 and 190) and SD4 automatic (190) may make more sense from LR's point of view. Just guessing by the waySmile. No insider information!

CONFIRMED

My dealer has just replied via email after me asking last night as well

Reply:

Hi Robert
That is correct….

However, because your order has been sitting in our holding pool, it still counts and you will be having the TD4 engine.

Result!!!! I still get my TD4

Is the Si4 engine 'shortage' due to the fact they don't work too well in the rain (US forums) and they are working on a fix?
