I think it looks fantastic, it makes the car look wide and sporty in the Dynamic trim! Very cool....Cool

RE: White vs. Grey in daylight - gmaker - 18-07-2011 10:38pm

I saw a 5-door Dynamic in Grey today in Exeter, Devon. Sadly, didn't have a camera or time to take a picture but must say it looked really nice although with a silver roof didn't quite gel together. I reckon with a grey or black roof it would have looked much better.

I can't say if it was orkney or stornaway but if I had to guess I would say stornaway.

It is making me think I may have made a mistake with Fuji white but unfortuanately I am also victim to my order being locked in without my dealer telling me in advance, as I had explicitly asked on more than one occassion!!

I know white will look really good as well but have always had grey or black cars and after today now I know why! It would be good to see some pictures of a white 5-door dynamic in real life if anyone has got any??

Thanks, but isn't that a CGI image??? It would be nice to see some real world shots not images or marketing pictures. Like you, I originally went for a black roof but swapped it for white with panoramic instead.

Must admit that the white does look really nice (and its cheaper) with the 20" alloys, it'll have heaps of road presense...but maybe thats why I havent gone for it.

Can you post the link to the flickr gallery, if you still have it? Thanks

Never mind, I've got it (thanks to article on How to find the original Flickr Photo URL and User from a Static Flickr Image URL/Permalink at http://www.bram.us/2008/01/12/my-priceless-flickr-tip-how-to-find-the-original-flickr-photo-url-and-user-from-a-static-flickr-image-url/)

Weirdly not if you buy this Prestige (in the UK) as the core Prestige price includes metallic paint - so if you opt for white you are effectively pay £550 over the odds.

Anyone ordered a white Prestige and got a £550 discount?

RE: White vs. Grey in daylight - Sassy - 19-07-2011 12:29pm

I think the greys look great on all Land Rovers. White not so much. The original white they used on the RRS was vile. They've updated it to a brighter white now which is better, but still every time I see a white FFRR or RRS I just think "you have NO idea what an LR is for" and "that car will never go off road" and therefore, WAG/footballer/lottery winner.

That said, I do think the Evoque, particularly the Dynamic with the black details and shadow wheels, looks great in white. My problem is with white is that it's going to be the most popular colour (and who wants to be the same as everyone else) and secondly, white being the colour du jour has simultaneously made it as naff as it was the last time round, when its was all about white Sierra Cosworths and Escorts.

If I'd had the choice at the point of order I would have gone for the pale blue that was showing as 2012 Q1 and has now been replaced with Mauritius, because it's different and because I think the chunky lines and details on the Evoque demand a colour with more depth and variation than flat white.

In the end I went for Indus as it seemed like the brightest option from a limited choice (at the time) although I was really drawn to the darker silver/greys and I feel I should have given them more consideration. With hindsight.

I have actually ordered a Prestige and hadnt realised that!! Oh well doesnt affect me as I've paid extra for the Barolo anyway...I think Id want the discount if I'd gone for non metallic though.
